Software Engineer - India

Mercor is recruiting Software Engineers to help build advanced AI systems and infrastructure. This project will focus on developing high-impact software components across backend, distributed systems, ML tooling, or data pipelines — all aimed at supporting scalable, intelligent, and production-grade AI systems.

You are a good fit if you:

• Have 2+ years of professional experience in software engineering. We also welcome exceptional fresh graduates from top-tier CS programs
• Have strong foundations in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, and systems design
• Have experience in at least one of the following areas: Backend / distributed systems development, Machine Learning engineering or infrastructure, Data engineering or large-scale ETL pipelines, Containerization / Docker / cloud-native tooling
• Are comfortable working with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Redis, PostgreSQL, Kafka, etc.
• Are self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote environment

Contract and Payment Terms

• You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
• This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.
• Projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
• Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
• Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
