Role Overview
Mercor is hiring seasoned Finance professionals to join an exciting collaboration with a top AI research lab. The role involves contributing to the development and evaluation of advanced AI systems built to mimic real-world workflows across Investment Banking, Private Equity, Asset Management, and Equity Research. You'll help train, test, and calibrate AI agents on complex financial tasks derived from M&A, IPOs, debt offerings, equity research, pitchbook development, and more.
Key Responsibilities

Evaluate financial outputs produced by AI systems for quality and accuracy

Calibrate AI decision-making processes in tasks such as valuation or modeling

Simulate and audit pitch deck workflows, comps analysis, and due diligence

Provide domain-specific feedback on AI-generated investment documents

Collaborate asynchronously with product and AI teams to improve systems
Ideal Qualifications
-
2+ years of experience in finance, ideally at top-tier firms. This could include experience in investment banking (e.g., Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley), private equity (e.g., Blackstone, KKR, Carlyle), equity research (e.g., JPMorgan Research, Evercore ISI, Fidelity Investments), or asset management (e.g., BlackRock, Vanguard, PIMCO).

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field. A Master's degree (e.g., MBA, Master of Finance) or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA) are a plus.

Strong proficiency in financial analysis and valuation techniques. This includes expertise in financial modeling (DCF, LBO, merger models), comparable company analysis (Comps), precedent transactions, and various valuation methodologies.

Solid understanding of capital markets, investment strategies, and transaction processes. Familiarity with M&A deal cycles, public market dynamics, portfolio management principles, and investment research methodologies is highly valued.

Excellent analytical, critical thinking, writing, and presentation skills. The ability to distill complex financial information into clear, concise, and compelling analyses and presentations is crucial across all these fields.

Contract and Payment Terms
- You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
- This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.

- Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
- Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
