Sales Engineers

We are looking for a Sales Engineer to write, review, and validate prompt-based questions designed to train AI.

Your expertise in technical solution design, customer engagement, product demos, and sales enablement will ensure each prompt and response is both technically accurate and commercially realistic. We welcome professionals from SaaS, hardware, manufacturing, or enterprise software backgrounds to help create training material that reflects real-world sales engineering workflows. You get an opportunity to apply your technical sales experience to shape the next generation of intelligent systems.

You are a good fit if you:

• Have over 3+ years of industry experience as a sales engineer or in a technical pre-sales roles.

• Have a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, UK or the Australia.

• Have a strong background in one or more of the following areas: pre-sales technical support and product demonstrations, writing proposals/technical specs/solution documentation, customer discovery and requirements analysis, or communicating complex technology to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Have strong attention to details

Preferred Qualification

• Master's degree or additional certifications in business, engineering, or product management is a plus.

• Experience working with CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce), proposal software, or demo platforms is highly encouraged.

Role Highlights

• Flexible workload: 10–20 hours per week, with potential to increase to 40 hours.

Role Start Date

• This role will begin in early to mid-July with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Interview Process

• You will take an AI interview where you will be asked questions about your background in technical sales and solutions engineering.

• You will share your screen and write a detailed prompt to generate an AI response about a sales engineering scenario.

• You will evaluate and compare LLM outputs to determine which response is more effective and accurate.

• Applicants will be selected based on their performance in the AI interview and on the accuracy and quality of their evaluations.

Contract and Payment Terms

• You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
• This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.
• Projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
• Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
• Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
