Mercor is recruiting part-time Business Consultants with deep expertise in pricing strategy for consumer retail brands to support a leading, data-driven AI company operating at the intersection of AI and Finance.In this role, you will serve as a subject-matter expert helping shape next-generation financial AI systems. You will apply real-world financial and strategic judgment to evaluate, refine, and influence complex AI-driven workflows. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with top AI researchers and technologists while directly impacting the future of financial intelligence tools. This is a flexible, part-time consulting engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a domain expert in pricing strategy and financial analysis for consumer retail businesses.

• Evaluate and refine AI-generated outputs related to financial modeling, valuation, pricing strategy, and transaction analysis.

• Provide structured feedback to improve the accuracy, reasoning, and robustness of AI workflows.

• Stress-test complex financial scenarios and ensure outputs reflect real-world investment and strategic standards.

• Contribute to the development of high-quality financial reasoning benchmarks and evaluation frameworks.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with AI researchers, engineers, and product teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

You are a strong fit if you have:

• Experience in M&A or coverage at a bulge bracket investment bank.

• Experience as an investor at a large-cap or mid-market private equity firm.

• Track record as an analyst at a hedge fund.

• Deep familiarity with SEC EDGAR filings (10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks) and financial statement analysis.

• Strong understanding of pricing strategy in consumer retail environments.

• Ability to conceptualise and execute complex financial workflows at both a strategic and practical level.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• High analytical rigour and structured thinking.

No prior AI experience is required — financial expertise and sound judgment are the core qualifications.

Contract and Payment Terms

• You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
• This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.
• Projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
• Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
• Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
