Experienced Software Engineers

Mercor is seeking experienced and detail-driven Software Engineer who will work with one of the leading AI labs to push the boundaries of their frontier models. Your role will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining high performance RL environments. You are a good fit if you:

• Are based out of The US, UK, Canada, Australia or New Zealand.

• Have 3+ years of experience in software engineering with strong proficiency in one of the following languages: Python, Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, PHP, Ruby, C++, Go, Rust, C, Cython

• Have experience building interactive systems, APIs, data pipelines involving agent/environment interactions.

• Have strong software engineering fundamentals: data structures, design patterns, unit testing, version control

• Are Familiar with RL algorithms and training workflows

• Have clear written and verbal communication skills

Role Highlights

• Flexible workload: 10–20 hours per week, with potential to increase to 40 hours.

Contract and Payment Terms

• You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
• This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.
• Projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
• Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
• Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
