Business Systems Implementation Engineer

We are looking for engineers with expertise in finance, business, and management systems to help write API prompts for desired use cases of business professionals.

Your expertise in designing and supporting systems used in business operations, financial planning, and enterprise resource workflows will ensure each prompt and response reflects how real-world engineers develop the tools that drive decision-making and operational efficiency. You’ll help shape how AI understands business logic, reporting systems, resource tracking, and enterprise automation—ideally including experience with ERP, CRM, or workflow automation APIs.

You are a good fit if you:

• Have over 3+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, systems integrator, or backend developer supporting business or financial platforms

• Have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

• Are currently based in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, UK, or Australia

• Have supported or developed systems used for financial reporting, enterprise resource planning (ERP), process automation, analytics dashboards, or workforce tools

• Are experienced in modeling data workflows, building business logic layers, or managing internal tooling for finance or operations teams

• Can clearly document engineering workflows and communicate across technical and business functions

Role Highlights

• Flexible workload: 10–20 hours per week, with potential to increase to 40 hours.

• Minimum duration: 1–2 months, with potential for extension.

Role Start Date

• This role will begin in mid to late-August with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Interview Process

• You will take an AI interview where you will be asked questions about your background in enterprise software engineering, system integration, and business application support.

• You will share your screen and write a detailed prompt to generate an AI response about a business or finance ERP scenario.

• You will evaluate and compare LLM outputs to determine which response is more effective and accurate.

• Applicants will be selected based on their performance in the AI interview and on the accuracy and quality of their evaluations.

Contract and Payment Terms

• You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
• This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.
• Projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
• Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
• Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
