Biology Expert (PhD)

Mercor is hiring experienced Biology professionals to join an exciting collaboration with a top AI research lab. This role involves contributing to the development and evaluation of advanced AI systems designed to replicate real-world workflows across life sciences, biomedical research, and related domains.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate Biology outputs produced by AI systems for quality, accuracy, and alignment with scientific objectives

• Create challenging problems in Biology that stress-test AI reasoning and analysis

• Contribute to data generation and evaluation processes that inform the next generation of large language models

Ideal Qualifications

• PhD in Biology or a directly related field from a top university

• Undergraduate degree completed in the U.S., UK, Canada, or Europe preferred

• 2+ years of academic experience (research, publication, teaching) or professional experience

• High attention to detail and exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent proficiency in English

Project Timeline

• Start Date: August (ongoing with rolling applications)

• Duration: 1–2 months

• Commitment: 10–20 hours/week (potential to extend to 40 hours/week)

Contract and Payment Terms

• You will be engaged as an independent contractor.

• Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
