Writing Expert

Mercor is hiring experienced Writing and Editing professionals to support high-impact projects with leading AI labs and research organizations. We welcome content and editorial professionals across specialties—journalists, technical writers, copywriters, UX writers, content strategists, editors, and fact-checkers. This role involves contributing to the evaluation and refinement of advanced AI systems designed to replicate real-world workflows across writing, editing, and content creation.

Key Responsibilities

• Editorial review & revision of AI-generated content for clarity, structure, tone, and brand voice

• Fact-checking & citation verification to reduce hallucinations and ensure source integrity

• Provide domain-specific feedback on writing, editing, and content quality across formats (articles, technical docs, product copy, marketing assets, chat transcripts, etc.)

Ideal Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in writing, editing, journalism, technical writing, or content strategy

• Strong portfolio demonstrating clear, accurate, and audience-appropriate writing and editing

• Familiarity with editorial standards and style guides (AP, Chicago, in-house)

• Comfort working with AI writing tools (e.g., GPT-style models) and giving structured feedback

• Excellent fact-checking, source evaluation, and editorial judgment

• Bonus: domain expertise (e.g., tech, healthcare, finance), SEO fundamentals, or UX writing experience

Project Timeline

• Start Date: Immediate

• Duration: 1–2 months

• Commitment: Part-time (15–25 hours/week, with flexibility up to 40 hours/week)

Contract and Payment Terms

• You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
• This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.
• Projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
• Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
• Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
