Literature Expert (PhD)

Mercor is hiring experienced Literature professionals to join an exciting collaboration with a top AI research lab. This role involves contributing to the development and evaluation of advanced AI systems designed to replicate real-world workflows across literary analysis, critical theory, and interpretation.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and assess complex problems and tasks in literature, including analysis of literary texts, critical theory, and interpretive methods

• Evaluate AI-generated outputs for conceptual accuracy, logical consistency, and relevance to real-world literary scholarship

• Provide clear written feedback on literature-related content and problem sets

Ideal Qualifications

• PhD in Literature, English, Comparative Literature, or a related field from a U.S. university (required)

• Deep subject-matter expertise across core areas of literature, with strong knowledge of literary analysis, theory, and interpretation

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking

• Prior teaching, research, or publication experience is a plus

Project Timeline

• Start Date: Immediate

• Duration: 1–2 months

• Commitment: Part-time, ~20 hours/week (potential to extend to 40 hours/week)

Contract and Payment Terms

• You will be engaged as an independent contractor.

• Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
