Public Policy Expert

Mercor is hiring experienced Public Policy professionals to join an exciting collaboration with a top AI research lab. This role involves contributing to the development and evaluation of advanced AI systems designed to replicate real-world workflows across public policy, governance, and regulatory design.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and assess complex problems and tasks in public policy, including policy analysis, program evaluation, governance frameworks, and regulatory design

• Evaluate AI-generated outputs for conceptual accuracy, logical consistency, and relevance to real-world policy challenges

• Provide clear written feedback on public policy-related content and problem sets

Ideal Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Public Policy (MPP), Public Administration (MPA), Political Science, Economics, Sociology, or a related social science field

• Deep subject-matter expertise in public policy, with knowledge of policy research, program evaluation, and governance

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking

• Prior experience in policy research, government, consulting, or publication is a plus

Project Timeline

• Start Date: Immediate

• Duration: 1–2 months

• Commitment: Part-time, ~20 hours/week (potential to extend to 40 hours/week)

Contract and Payment Terms

• You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
• This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.
• Projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
• Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
• Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
