Debt Solutions Financial Consultant (USA)

Mercor is hiring on behalf of a top AI lab that is seeking Financial Advisors with expertise in credit card debt counseling to support clients in the United States. In this role, you will provide personalized repayment strategies, educate clients on credit utilization, and guide them toward rebuilding long-term financial stability.

Responsibilities

• Assess client financial health: balances, repayment history, income, and spending patterns.

• Create structured debt management plans (debt avalanche/snowball, consolidation loans, balance transfers).

• Provide advice on FICO credit scores, credit utilization ratios, and long-term score improvement.

• Stay updated on consumer protection laws (FTC, CFPB) and credit regulations.

• Deliver ongoing coaching and track client progress toward debt reduction goals.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Financial Advisor, Debt Counselor, or Credit Specialist in the U.S.

• Strong knowledge of U.S. credit card market, repayment tools, and regulations.

• Familiarity with FICO scoring models and credit bureau reports (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion).

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts.

Contract and Payment Terms

• You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
• This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.
• Projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
• Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
• Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
