Music Transcriber — Melody-to-MIDI (Generative Music)

Mercor is hiring musician-transcribers to transcribe AI-generated songs into MIDI for a frontier generative-music AI lab.

You'll transcribe the lead vocal melody of a track — note by note (pitch, start time, duration) — using MuseScore (free, open-source; piano-roll view + native MIDI export). This is a single-line, monophonic transcription task; full multi-track transcription is a later expansion.

You're a fit if you have strong ear-training and transcription ability — composers, session musicians, conservatory-trained players, or professional transcribers who can identify pitch, rhythm, and note duration by ear.

Contract and Payment Terms

• You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
• This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.
• Projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
• Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
• Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
