Personal Financial Advisors — Occupation Research Survey
$50 / one-time
$50

Help us understand how personal-financial-advising jobs differ across the profession. We are studying the dimensions that distinguish different jobs, drawing on the independent judgment of experienced practitioners.
Selected participants will complete one written survey. You will identify the main dimensions that distinguish jobs within personal financial advising and the main categories or values within each dimension. You can write concise notes and clarify unfamiliar terms where needed. We are interested in your own professional perspective; no research or preparation is required.
Expected survey time: approximately 15–20 minutes. Please allow up to 25 minutes for a detailed response. This is an estimate, and there is no timer.
Who this is for
-
Professionals with at least five years of hands-on personal-financial-advising experience.
-
Current or recent experience advising individuals or households in the U.S. professional context.
-
Direct responsibility for developing or communicating personalized financial recommendations.
-
Ability to describe the occupation from direct professional experience.
This round concerns advice to individuals or households. Experience solely in investment banking, corporate finance, institutional investing, or general banking without a personal-advising remit is outside scope. A certification may help demonstrate experience but does not replace relevant work history.
Participation
Submit the short eligibility application first. The research team reviews applications and invites selected participants to the survey. The full survey is provided after selection.
Please keep your survey response general and do not include names of clients, employers, or individuals, or confidential financial details. Respond in English using your own experience. Your answers are not scored for agreement with a preferred view.
We consider all qualified applicants without regard to legally protected characteristics and provide reasonable accommodations upon request.
