Software Developers: Share Your AI Coding Sessions

Role Overview

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research organization to understand how developers build with AI coding assistants. We're looking for developers actively building their own projects to do their normal work in OpenCode, a terminal-based coding assistant, while each session is recorded.

What You'll Do

• Build features on your own real project using the open-weight and Gemini models we provide
• Choose which model to use for each task, and switch whenever you naturally would
• Use one chat per task

Ideal Qualifications

• Actively building a verifiable software project (side project, startup, or LLM-powered feature)
• Regular user of AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or Cline
• Comfortable with the terminal and git on Mac or Linux
• Experience building agentic or LLM-integrated features is a plus

Project Details

• Remote, about 10 hours per week, flexible
• $100–250/hour, depending on experience
• Start: immediate

Contract and Payment Terms

• You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
• This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.
• Projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
• Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
• Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
